Week 4 Prompts # 16

16. Somebody just offered me the chance to get paid for gassing on about one of my favorite topics: dogs. What would you like to be paid to talk about?

The Boston Celtics is a topic I would love to get paid for to talk about. I could talk about them for ever and ever. It was about 2005 when I turned the TV on one night and saw a basketball game being played. I watched for a little while, and immediately fell in love with the Celtics. That year they were the underdogs in the NBA. They had a terrible record and no one expected them to do anything. Oddly enough, that next day at school we were assigned a research paper with a topic of our choice. I wanted to find out more about the Celtics so I researched their history. The Celtics come from a franchise of amazing players. Larry Bird,  Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, and all the other great players. The chemistry each team shares, and the unselfishness of each player made the Celtics one of the greats. Reading more and more of the history and how they became who they are, is miraculous and amazing. Their history and their future make me love basketball and I love watching them. They may not always do the best or win every game, I still love them.
I remember the first time I watched Paul Pierce play on TV. At first I thought he was a selfish player. Then I realized he was. Then over a year, I saw him transform into a team player. It was really beautiful. Then when Kevin Garnett came to the team, I didn't know to much about him. To educate myself I watched some videos and interviews of him. I saw this passion and love for the game. It was so evident how much he truly loved basketball. I watched him being interviewed while he was still playing for the Timberwolves and he broke down crying in his interview. He had been playing so hard, playing with injuries, and his team wasn't winning. Their was not chemistry and it tore him apart. He then came to the Celtics and the chemistry was so evident. Then, they won a championship! It was beautiful to watch! Another interview I watched was about midway through his first season as a Celtic. He was talking about how putting on the Celtics jersey was an honor. How it never felt so good to play basketball and how he loved his team.
The Celtics are one of the greatest teams there are. Not just because of my love for them, but because of their history and the symbolism the team shows through the character. The Celtics are a team and franchise I would love to be paid to talk about. Actually, I will talk about them whether I get paid or not! :)

  1. I remember watching Bob Cousy back in the day at the Boston Garden, but that's as far back as I go, and my only real sports interest is at the other end of town, Kenmore Square and Fenway Park.

But I enjoyed reading about your passion for the Shamrockers.

    Here's how:

    1. Log in to your Blogger dashboard. If you have upgraded to the new interface, switch back to the old one. Look for the option of "Old blogger interface."
    2. Navigate to your blog’s Settings. Click on Comments.

    4. Select NO and save your changes.
    5. Change back to new interface if you want.
