If a basketball court and basketball could talk, what would each of them say? A particular court I am thinking about is a court in Boston, the home of a team that I love dearly, the Boston Celtics. I am a huge Boston Celtics fan and they made their home in downtown Boston where thousands of crazed fans gather nightly to cheer on their team. If the court could talk about these amazing and talented players play on, what would it say? Would it be speechless and in awe of the talented players that play on it each night? Would the court want to brag to the others about Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett playing daily on their court?
What about the official NBA basketball? Would the ball quiver at the thought of one of these super stars dribbling them up and down the court? Would it whisper encouraging words into each players ears? Would the ball favor the home team over the away team?
If the court at the TD Bank Garden could in fact talk, I do believe it would be speechless and awe struck from the talent being displayed. I believe that it would brag to the others about the super stars they have the privilege of being played on.
The official NBA basketball would quiver at the thought of a super star Celtic dribbling up and down the court. It would also whisper encouraging words into the players ears. Giving them an extra boost, and confidence to win the game and persevere. The ball would also favor the home team, and not the away team.
The basketball court and the basketball, would cheer on their team at the TD Bank Garden, just like a, obsessed fan cheering on their team!
Now imagine if the old Boston Garden was there to talk!
ReplyDeleteThis is smooth writing--I don't know if it was hard to write, but it reads as if it was written with inspiration at white heat as fast as you could type and came out perfectly, not requiring a single change. Probably that's a huge overstatement, but if a piece gives that impression the reader is always happy to be carried along on what seems like writer's wings.
My only suggestion: reverse the order of grafs 2 & 3.
