Week 3 Prompts # 9

*** I am so sorry these are so late. Had some technical and personal difficulties.....

9. Writers have to listen to themselves; writers ought to always be talking to themselves. Try a conversation between you and yourself. Sometimes arguments are fun.

Me: I can't believe that recently I have had hardly any sleep, been doing crazy amounts of homework, trying to squeeze time in for friends, and dealing with some weird health issues that are going on, and looking for a job.

Myself: Your sleeping less because you are studying to get good grades, you are finishing your homework to also get good grades, you are being a good friend and helping others, and you are stressed which is causing you to not feel good, and job searching is tough, especially these days. Its OK, you can do it!

Me: I can't do it. I feel like I am falling apart.

Myself: You can do it! Think of the rewards of all your hard work.

Me: I can't do it anymore. I just want to sleep till the end of time!

Myself: You will get sleep once summer comes!

Me: I can't wait for summer! Also, I need money! NOW! Gas is expensive, my car is falling apart because of the deer I hit, and my breaks are making funny noises!

Myself: You will get a job! You just got a call for an interview, things are looking up! You can take your car to your Grampie, he will look over your car, and fix your breaks.

Me: I can't go to Grampie. I already owe him money for the last fix. I hate bugging him and wasting his time, especially when I can't pay right away. I don't want to have to add to my bill!

Myself: Your Grampie will understand he always does. He wants you to be safe, and your car to be safe. He would be upset if something happened to you.

Me: OK, but what about my hood that flaps in the wind and may fly up in my face while I am driving?

Myself: You can have your Grampie strap the hood back down again.

Me: But then when I lock my keys in my car, again, Grampie will have to come rescue me again.

Myself: You know he doesn't mind.

Me: Shoot! I have a test today! It is due by midnight! I haven't studied yet!

Myself: You can do it! Make note cards, and high light! You know you can learn quickly!

Me: Yes I can!

  1. Mercy, what a mess of problems. My advice: listen to 'myself' and go see Grampie!

As for the writing, I have no advice: it's snappy, holds the reader, and paints a portrait. Can't ask for more than that.
